Outdoor Extension Cord

Outdoor extension cords are water and weatherproof.  They are specificly designed to withstand harsh winter weather.  When purchasing a new extension cord to use outdoors, be sure to buy the correct size.  Sizes range between a few feet upto 100 feet or more.  You want to leave ourself a little extra room because the cords may not lay straight, and you don't want to stretch the extension cord.  This could damage it and cause a fire or serious injury.

You also don't want to use a cord that is to long.  This could cause a tripping hazard.  When making your purchase, you should find a cord a couple of feet longer than you thing you need.  If you think you need 20 feet, buy a 25 foot cord.
